Stueck, David D., Jr., age 91, of Pompton Plains, NJ passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. David was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Wyckoff, NJ before moving to Pompton Plains more than a decade ago.
Following his military service on a destroyer escort in the United States Navy in World War II, he graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. During his career, he worked in the defense, automotive, and sporting goods industries, most recently as owner of Kapo Machine Corporation in Wyckoff.
David is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Grace; his daughters Elizabeth Stueck of Mendham Township, NJ (with husband Michael Weatheread), Cynthia Bouwense of Wayne, NJ (with husband Russell), and Lori Morsch of Mendham Township, NJ (with husband Eugene); and grandchildren Matthew Bouwense (with wife Mai) of Groton, CT, Scott Bouwense of Wayne, NJ, Kimberly Morsch of New York, NY, and James Morsch of Cameron, NC. David’s example of honor and service lives on in all his grandchildren and inspired two grandsons to pursue military careers.
He was predeceased by his father, David D. Stueck, Sr., and Josephine Wilson Stueck, mother.
A funeral service was held with members of the immediate family on February 3, where memories of David were shared with both laughter and tears. Interment with military honors followed at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery in Wyckoff, NJ and marked a life well lived by a kind, gentle, and honorable man.
