Obituary of Jeff Mockler

Jeffrey A. Mockler, 48, of Ramsey, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  Jeff was born in Ridgewood and grew up in Washington Township before moving to Ramsey in 2001.  He graduated from Don Bosco Prep in 1987 as senior class president and Fordham University in 1991 with a Statistics Major.  He began his career managing high-end restaurants in Manhattan before becoming the owner of his family business Mahwah Wine and Liquors in Mahwah.  Jeff was extremely generous with local schools, communities, and civic organizations and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church in Wyckoff.

 

Jeff enjoyed baseball, golf, football and skiing. He was an avid Yankees fan, and loved being a part of his Fantasy Football league with his best friends. His favorite pastimes were cooking, fishing, spending time at the beach, summer barbecues, and coaching and volunteering with his children’s teams. Above all, his wife, children, family and dogs, Bailey, Remi, and Tess meant the world to him.

 

Jeff is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, daughter Kyla Heinz Picerno and her husband Matthew, son Christopher Heinz, daughters Aimee and Lauryn, mother Eloise Haase and her husband Hank Haase, father Arthur Mockler and his wife Janice, sister Tara Snow and her husband Andrew, along with many nieces and nephews and cousins. 

 

He was predeceased by his brother Todd W. Mockler, and his grandparents Lou and Rita Monti and Inge and Rudy Pietrek.

 

Visiting hours are Sunday 2 - 6 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. 

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 11th at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.  Entombment will follow at the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
